VR 360 CRYOABLATION

The aim was to demonstrate CT-guided Cryoablation of kidney tumors in a teaching setting. This was done by simultaneously recording multiple 360 videos and output from a CT-scanner during a cryoablation. 

A number of VR-experiences were then built using VitaSim Author and the recorded 360- and 2D materials. The experiences were made available via VitaSim Web Player, so the learners didn’t need VR headsets. A function in VitaSim Author was used to synchronise the timelines between the recordings, thus making it easy to move between different positions during the procedure, e.g., switch from the view of the anesthesiologist to the radiologists, to the technician, to an overview of the room. 

Hardware: Oculus Quest 2 (Standalone headset) and PC/Mac (Web Browser)
