As of software version 1.4

Hip and pelvis

Simulation preview and details

Foot Simulation

The patient is prone in AP on the radiogaphic tabel. Hip and pelvis have been combined to one simulation as they are almost identical from a simulation point of view. Selecting to do cross table axial hip will automatically reposition the patient with the right leg raised.

The simulation includes the following bones:
  • Ilium
  • Ischium
  • Pubis
  • Sacrum
  • Coccyx
  • Right and left femur
  • L5, L4, and L3
See also visualization of available anatomy.

Joint Mobility in simulation:
  • Internal and external femur rotation

Bones variations in simulation:
  1. A healthy bone version
  2. A pathological version featuring a collum femoris fracture
  3. A pathological version featuring a ossis pubis fracture

Radiographic Tube Functionality: The radiographic tube has a full range of motion, including vertical (up/down), horizontal (side-to-side), tilt, and rotation. The cassette can also be rotated, and collimation size is adjustable.

Detector Methods: The detector is setup for use as "free plating".

Simulated Exposures: The simulation is confirmed to be capable of supporting at least the following views: AP, and Lateral. Additional views may be possible, check the patient's range of motion and the available bones above.

Known limitations: We acknowledge that, as of software version 1.4, the radiographic tube does not detent to the radiographic table and the radiographic table does not support table bucky. We are aware that this is standard practise for hip and pelvis and are working to address these limitation in future updates.

Visualization of available anatomy

The range of possible exposures in the simulation is determined by the available 3D anatomy. Below, we provide a visualization of the bone anatomy, specifically for the healthy variation, which is accessible for exposure within the simulation.

AP visualization of anatomy available for the ‘hip and pelvis’ region in the X-ray Simulator

PA visualization of anatomy available for the ‘hip and pelvis’ region in the X-ray Simulator

NOTICE: This image is not intended to represent a specific view, ideal standard, or diagnostic-quality image. It is provided solely to demonstrate the anatomy available in the simulator. Please note that image quality in the X-ray Simulator will vary based on user-controlled settings – such as tube positioning, technical factors, and patient alignment. This tool is designed as an interactive simulator and does not guarantee ideal or optimal imaging outcomes unless operated correctly.
