Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma (FAST)
A virtual training experience where doctors and medical students can practice focused trauma ultrasound (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma, FAST). The training experience ranges from an introduction to basic ultrasound and peer-to-peer training in FAST with a virtual instructor to the opportunity to scan patients in the four different FAST zones and practice cases.
- Understanding of basic ultrasound
- Knowledge of FAST and understanding of the indications for the examination
- Ability to recognize free fluid in the pericardium and peritoneum on ultrasound
- Ability to perform a FAST examination.
Duration:
2 hours

Focused Lung Ultrasound (FLUS)
A virtual training scenario where healthcare professionals can practice performing and interpreting focused lung ultrasound (FLUS). The course includes a summary of the theoretical basic principles, a comprehensive practical review of the procedure, as well as interpretation of both normal and pathological ultrasound findings in patients with shortness of breath.
- Perform FLUS according to a 14-zone protocol
- Interpret normal ultrasound findings (lung sliding, curtain sign, etc.)
- Interpret pathological ultrasound findings related to common cardio-pulmonary diseases (pneumothorax, pleural effusion, cardiogenic pulmonary edema, etc.)
- Understand which findings require higher competence level UL evaluation
Duration:
3 hours

Lumbar puncture
A virtual training scenario where healthcare professionals can practice lumbar puncture. Our course includes the theoretical overview of the sterile procedure, as well as a three-step educational training of the practical part with all the sterile clinical equipment that one would recognize from the real world.
- Knowledge of indications, contraindications, and complications
- Ability to palpate and locate optimal injection sites
- Skills to administer local anesthesia prior to the procedure
- Skills to perform a sterile lumbar puncture and manage the collection of spinal fluid.
Duration:
60 minutes

A virtual training scenario where healthcare personnel can practice ultrasound-guided peripheral venous catheterization (US-PVC). Our course includes the theoretical overview of the procedure, as well as a pedagogical step-by-step training of the practical part with all the clinical equipment familiar from the real world.
- Knowledge of indications, contraindications, and complications
- Ability to perform an ultrasound scan and identify optimal vessels for PVC catheterization
- Ability to optimize the US image for the procedure
