Focused Lung Ultrasound (FLUS)

A virtual training scenario where healthcare professionals can practice performing and interpreting focused lung ultrasound (FLUS). The course includes a summary of the theoretical basic principles, a comprehensive practical review of the procedure, as well as interpretation of both normal and pathological ultrasound findings in patients with shortness of breath.

  • Perform FLUS according to a 14-zone protocol
  • Interpret normal ultrasound findings (lung sliding, curtain sign, etc.) 
  • Interpret pathological ultrasound findings related to common cardio-pulmonary diseases (pneumothorax, pleural effusion, cardiogenic pulmonary edema, etc.) 
  • Understand which findings require higher competence level UL evaluation
